Summer is finally here and it seems like it is going to be a scorcher this one. All I want to do is stay in the air conditioning or be outside in the pool. Even though it is this hot it seems that everyone enjoys the summer. Baseball, outdoor sports especially boating people can do so much during this time of year. But there are some things about summer safety that I would like to bring up to all of you that read our blogs. This was please pass on to your friends and family.

This topic is so important to all of us. Beacuse of the extreme heat this year this topic is soo important.

Leaving your kids, pets or elder-family member in the car while you run into the store for “just a minute.” In hot weather, according to many different studies, if the outside temperature is 85 degrees, within FIVE minutes the inside of the car (even with the windows cracked) will be 90 degrees. In TEN minutes, it will be 100 degrees and in 30 minutes it will be 120 degrees. At 107 degrees, (body temperature) all the body’s enzymes in the cells are destroyed and the person will die.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 160px; height: 160px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/TDI4HGuI7iI/AAAAAAAAAVk/49QFRRSvE14/s200/thumbnailCAIN1WV5.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5490512590432431650" /> Every year 40 children or adults die in overheated cars. Since 1998, 417 children have died in cars. Since no caring adult will intend to leave their child in an overheated car, it is just up to everyone else to be on the lookout for kids, pets or elders left alone while the driver “just runs in” to get a quick thing or two from the grocery, post office or department store. Time passes—very quickly! Don’t make a fatal mistake!

And for pool and beach safety, in addition to watching your child at all times and making sure they have their life jackets on, include Sun Screen. Did you know that every time a child (or adult) gets a sun burn, it increases their chance of getting skin cancer? If a child has five sunburns in their life, their changes double of getting skin cancer. And melanoma is the number one killer of all skin cancers. Keep your child and yourself, safe from the sun!

Please do NOT turn on A/C as soon as you enter the car. Open the windows after you enter your car and turn ON the AC after a couple of minutes. Here's why: According to research, the car dashboard, sofa, air freshener emit Benzene, a Cancer causing toxin (carcinogen - take time to observe the smell of heated plastic in your car).
In addition to causing cancer, Benzene poisons your bones, causes anemia and reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure will cause Leukemia, increasing the risk of cancer. This can also cause miscarriages.

Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50mg per sq. foot, A car parked indoors with windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene. If parked outdoors under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level. People who get into the car, keeping windows closed will inevitably inhale, in quick succession, excessive amounts of the toxin. Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidney and liver.. What's worse, it is extremely difficult for your body to expel this toxic stuff. So friends, please open the windows and door of your car - give time for interior to air out -dispel the deadly stuff - before you enter.

Keep safe this summer, and remember, if you have to take a pet along, make sure it is a Zhu Zhu Pet! They are the rage of kids of all ages! The best part about them is that they don’t have to be fed, they don’t have to eat, they never soil the carpet or car seats and you CAN leave them in the car without worry!

What a weekend! We saw over 1500 Nostalgia Cars at the show. We met some of the greatest drivers of all time my all time favorite was Barbara Hamilton, she gave us a wonderful history of her racing career. We met so many drivers and teams that it was hard to remember all their names.

The day of the race we interviewed on our radio show Tony Thacker, Director of the Wally Parks NHRA Museum in Pomona, CA Al "Mousie" Marcelius owner of the famed Winged Express Fuel Altered. Brad Thompson - Driver of High Speed Motorsports Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster. Paul Romine - Owner/Driver of "Man Of War" Nostalgia Funny Car.

A big thanks goes out to my friend Donna Anderson of SoffSeal and the NHRA Tony Thacker, BE Daniels and Monica Valdez for for the weekend of a lifetime in Motor Sports, thanks again.

Here is an example of making a display that will wow your guests.

My favorite summer recipes.
Favorite Summer Party Dip- Margie’s Cheese Dip- This was my cousin Margie Meyer's creation!

Take 8oz of block Swiss cheese – shred very fine like coconut
Chop ¼ onion very fine
20 drops of Tabasco
1 cup of Hellmann’s Light Mayonnaise
Combine all ingredients in small bowl
Place in refrigerator for at least an hour
Serve with crackers, fresh vegetables
Really Yummy!!!!!!!!!!

For a fun and cool summer dish that is both scrumptious and nutritious, pick up some fresh-from-the-garden vegetables at your local farmer’s market. There is nothing better than home-grown vegetables this time of the year. Try this chopped salad it’s a favorite at our house.

2-3 medium size tomatoes, chopped into ¼” cubes
3-4 small to medium cucumbers, peeled and chopped into ¼” cubes
1 yellow and 1 green bell pepper (medium to large) chopped into ¼” pieces
Celery if desired (but not mandatory)
Ranch Dressing (low-fat, fat-free, whatever kind you want) Or Italian, Russian or French Dressing.

Toss all and enjoy! This yummy salad is cool, quick and delicious!
Have a wonderful summer!
See you soon!

My favorite part of the year is late spring when all the lovely flowers appear, every color of the rainbow. Tulips, Daffodils, Azaleas, Forsythia, Judas Trees, Lilacs and so much more.... last year I planted over three hundred tulip bulbs, and to my surprise they all came up this year and it was such a sight to behold. I was worried they would not come up because the deer love the bulbs somehow I out smarted the deer! It was such a gorgeous display of color, oh I wish I had taken a picture or two, oh well there is always next year.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 137px; height: 103px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/S-oGMGmSKNI/AAAAAAAAAS0/TtzajygWuUI/s200/Cars+racing.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5470191502394271954" />
Our year of 2010 is speeding by at a rapid pace, causing me to spin and twirl in several directions. It is difficult to believe it is May and summer is just over the horizon. The speed of my life should be the indicator that life in general is on the same pace.

In the last few weeks I have traveled quite a bit, shooting episodes of The Chef You and I, in different parts of the country. If that isn’t enough to keep me busy, we have had a full slate of impressive guests on our radio program. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 148px; height: 121px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/S-oHn8hbopI/AAAAAAAAAS8/trPYxr6kxU8/s200/John%2520M.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5470193080237531794" /> John Michelotti, creator of the Flag of Honor/ Flag of Heroes Project was in our studio. The Flag of Honor bears the names of those who perished in the terrorists’ attacks on 9/11. John gave us flags to give to special veterans. One was presented to Don Kennedy, former Air force Pilot, while we were on the air. It was a touching moment for all of us who witnessed it.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 100px; height: 100px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/S-oK07CJw3I/AAAAAAAAATU/ZLgm4QDviTE/s200/Joan+and+Robert.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5470196601711084402" /> Joan Sweeney and Robert Chimento of Red Road Productions discussed the new movie “Follow the Prophet” based on a true story It centers around a young girl who escaped from a polygamy cult. It is an edge-of-your-seat thriller that explores how brainwashing is used to promote ritualistic underage marriage and sex offences with the cults which are still in existence today. This is a current event movie which has something for everyone.

Another guest on our program, William R. Forstchen, PHD, and author of “One Second After”, discussed his best-selling book. The book opens the topic of EMP and what it is in our world. It should scare you to death! Reading this book should make you spring into action and contact your public officials in the senate and congress to take action. This is an immediate threat to the world.

Our second guests on last week’s program were Don Kennedy, ProMaster Home Repair and Remodeling. He is our new political analyst and a respected author. He pulls not punches and Willey and Don Kennedy together create an active discussion on why American’s should stand up and be heard. We need to speak out for the persecuted and oppressed. We need to stop being a part of the “silent majority” and find our voices.

Lots of new things are happening in our entertainment world, starting with a new network where we will be broadcasting soon. The Telos Digital Television Network will being broadcasting this month, and our television program, The Chef, You and I, will be featured two-three times each week. It is an incredible opportunity and we will soon be nationwide on a five-level broadcasting network.

We are also exploring the creation of a kids program to also be included in this new network.

One that fun things that we will be filming this year is the event at the Shadow Box Cabaret. It is held in May every year and this year the Yearly Fundraiser / Auction will be on May 12, 2010 at the Newport Levee. The radio show “Let’s Just Talk always sponsors the event with a table. And in addition this year Chef Michael Belanger and I are giving a $2500 dinner for four with four courses plus wine, from the Chef You and I show. The winners will be televised on our new TV show the night of the dinner. The Event at the Shadow Box is always fun with entertainment and food and silent and live auctions, I hope you will all attend.

We have a full schedule of other events for the summer, including attendance at the Reds ball games, Grilling for Summer with Chef Michael on our Chef, You and I program. I’ll be traveling to Bowling Green, Kentucky in June to cover the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion.

In my spare time, I hope to plant a garden for use on our television program, and I hope to remodel our kitchen. If that isn’t enough, I’ll be taking a trip to California to visit with my daughter who is expecting her first child in August.
Just a side note on the NHRA, they will be offering a Show it, Win it and Take it to Indy contest. Hundreds of cars from all over the country will be driving into Bowling Green that weekend—ranging from muscle cars to hot rods to trucks, and custom classics. Ten of the best, plus 50 of the top entries will be going to the 56th Annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis. Entry forms can be found at http://musuem.nhra.com.

Hope you have a wonderful month and usher in summer with flair!

Fabulous February a New Happening!!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 130px; height: 175px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/S4IGcyCgjYI/AAAAAAAAASc/-U_Mu4uJWJE/s200/Picture+of+Kathryn+in+Hollywood.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5440918391355379074" />

The excitement is rising as we are heading towards our first television program on the new Telos - Digital Television Network. In the next few weeks our program, The Chef, You and I, will premier on this new network. You can check out all their information at www.TelosTV.com it is dubbed as Television Network for “Body, Mind and Spirit.” <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 113px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/S4Hlg0llP_I/AAAAAAAAAR8/j-RTngnhIVE/s200/2nd+Winter+Scene.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5440882176875118578" /> With the snow piling up in Cincinnati, I am looking forward to spring aren't we all! On Valentine’s Day and night I thought we would go out and for a romantic evening but with more snow on the way we decided not to brave the elements but to have a romantic dinner in our cozy dinning room illuminated by candlelight. It was so romantic I hope your Valentine Day was as sweet as mine!!!

The 3rd week of February I had the thrill of my life to participate in one of the largest food shows in the Midwest. The Event was held in Indianapolis, Indiana. The show itself had hundreds of vendors from all over the US it felt like I was kid in a Candy Shop it truly amazing. The flowers the food displays the people and was unbelievable the dinner and entertainment were marvelous and I hope I get invited again next year.

We’ve had a busy new year, with lots of travel, new guests on our show and just getting ready for the newly formatted television production has added to my daily enthusiasm for our program. We knew when we started The Chef, You and I, (about a year ago) that there was a need for a cooking program that provided a healthy alternative to America’s fat-filled menus. The response by both chefs and guests has been phenomenal. It has all reinforced the fact that we filled a need. We are thrilled to be a part of this new television network.

  The New Year has also brought new challenges to my life. I started a new diet program called Unique Medical Weight Loss program. I’ve been on it about 10 days now and have lost fewer pounds than I hoped, but at least the scale is going down and not up! Dieting is always a challenge and traveling and meetings can take a toll on the greatest of will power.

   I have reviewed my Goals for 2010 and realize I still have lots of work to achieve them. I plan on writing a new healthy cookbook which can be sold on our web site. The different places where I have lived and the great cooks in my life have inspired me with a vast recipe box of tasty meals. I would love to share them with you!

   Our web site re-design is done for The Chef You and I show and it looks super as always. Our web designer Tony Terentowicz did a super job a special thanks to Tony. If you haven’t had time to explore our new site, check out www.thechefyouandI.com it’s worth the time!

   Our Radio Show for February is filled with tons of guests with informative and educational information. So if you haven't had a chance to check out www.kathrynraaker.com and listen to the shows you have missed listed in the archives please do.

A new year is here! A new Sun is setting. To say this is my favorite time of the year is an understatement. Opening a new calendar is like a blank slate at my fingertips! It’s clean, neat and full of opportunities to experience new things. It is the time of year when I have complete control over everything in my life. A date book is a way to start fresh, penciling in whatever I choose—eliminating unwanted and unnecessary time wasters. It is a time of infinite possibilities.

And the end of this year is especially monumental. We have completed a decade—ten years! What did we do with the last ten years? More importantly, what did we do with the last year? December 31st is a time to say, “Whatever happened, happened; whatever didn’t happen, oh well, next year is just about here!”

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 133px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/Sz6xKiri9QI/AAAAAAAAAPM/4wvbX-zDfIE/s200/thechef1_ttids107.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421965796066915586" />
I can honestly say I experienced a lot of new things in 2009—a new television program "The Chef You and I", more radio shows, more stations-nine and finally syndication.

And I am proud to say this summer I was asked to return to my former station 1160 but with a new identity the new call letters are Real Talk 1160 WQRT an all Talk Station! <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 112px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/Sz7Gej7bIPI/AAAAAAAAARU/Hab5kpVBipw/s200/logo.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421989229743513842" />
It was sad to depart from WCVX 1050 but it was time to go back to the talkers! What was really quite awesome was that we made the Billboards this November with WQRT and it really helped to advertise our Saturday show. Thanks to the great station and all involved in making it happen.

And in the fall of 2009 I started representing a new product just for Kids, named KidO! <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 136px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/Sz67x6avlUI/AAAAAAAAAQs/xu5Gd_Fns-w/s200/-Kido.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421977467570066754" /> KidO is a healthy drink for children with juice, water and all the essential vitamins kids need. Kids just love KidO and so do I especially the Punch flavor and the Grape. And now the school lunch rooms are serving it. KidO is a wonderful beverage for Kids of any age and only 10 calories!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 159px; height: 119px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/Sz7Ha9MdGiI/AAAAAAAAARk/sukuVFjdRIg/s200/3%2520priests.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421990267317983778" />
Most memorable was to interview for our Holiday show the three singing priests from Ireland Father Martin O'Hagan, his brother Father Eugene, and Father David Delargy – featuring excerpts of their new album Harmony.

This year we traveled for the show more than ever before we ventured to far away places like Hawaii, in May, LA in June and December, Detroit and New York in July, and Philadelphia in November. Just to name a few. Flew to greater heights, (in more than one way!) Yes, in the Hot Air Balloon, what a thrill! And overcame my fears and became a better person because of it.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 110px; height: 136px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/Sz7Is25XrzI/AAAAAAAAARs/ZNQJd5oaD04/s200/-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421991674376597298" />
My experiences have given me greater insight into my own abilities and my own limitations, making me realize things as simple as a flight of steps can render me helpless. And saying goodbye to someone we love is never easy.
2009 has been a year of challenges and mistakes, dreams and changes, friends and family all combined into one 12 month time frame. And now we begin again.

I also took time to inventory my life in the last 52 weeks. I realized I am surrounded by “things.” Things that I have collected things I have been given, things that I have purchased and things that have somehow just accumulated multiplied and reproduced in ways I cannot explain.

I assessed what ail l needed and what I wanted to keep, and gave, sold and discarded. Somehow, does this make my life less complicated? Not really, but it does allow me to stretch a bit more and say that the important “things” in life are not things. Start the New Year, doing something for yourself, , try something new, a hobby, take time to read a book, visit a friend you haven’t seen in awhile, finally get up a start that exercise program even if its just walking in place and this year lets all get healthy! Happy New Year! From all the Staff of the Kathryn Raaker’s Productions and radio shows. Till next month!

December and the Holidays!!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 153px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SyW7lrmcIvI/AAAAAAAAAO8/VQy9qumpRxA/s200/foggy_window-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414940383016395506" /> It’s hard to believe that December has arrived and is plummeting through the month while I try to gain solid footing! It’s sweeping me away! My busy schedule becomes crammed packed in December attending parties, creating events, gifting, wrapping, sending, recording, etc. etc. etc.! Before we know it, January will arrive, ushering
in the snows of the season and we will all give a collective sigh of exhaustion!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 154px; height: 160px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SyWyABh0PBI/AAAAAAAAANs/c57obQtLHSM/s200/thumbnailCA3O2I7O.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414929840462904338" />
Actually, Christmas is one of my most favorite times of the year. Not only do I love the lights and the decorations that make everything look special, but I love the fact that I can give without guilt to whomever I want! I don’t have to say, “should I get something” or “should I spend the money” I just do it! It answers my desire to shop that I have to temper other times of the year.

Giving really is my favorite thing about Christmas and the holidays. Giving to my family and friends, giving to my church and our congregation, but the gift of my time is the most treasured gift I have to give to anyone. December makes me stop and analyze exactly how I will spend each minute, because I have so many obligations. Every minute is doled out with precise measure. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 110px; height: 146px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SyW2_n9F18I/AAAAAAAAAOc/uDNpk8GlMQs/s200/The+Ornament.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414935331156121538" />

I have always enjoyed making gifts for those I care about the most. I have made everything from baked goods to wreaths. While the handmade gifts are certainly not the most expensive, they are the most heartfelt. I take the time to put “me” into each gift. I am confident that the recipients are also pleased with the end results.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 164px; height: 120px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SyW6o5ZxzTI/AAAAAAAAAO0/oWktz1-dCUk/s200/xmas_tree-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414939338749365554" />

The Holidays is a time to reflect on the year past. What we did, what we didn’t do, how we have spent our time, because soon after the tree is down (or maybe before) we invite a new year into our lives. So for all of you, who are still shopping, wrapping, shipping and planning, take time to breathe: Breathe in the cold air, the sights and smells of the season. Breathe in the enjoyment of the holidays. Merry Christmas to all!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 125px; height: 160px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/Swy60yY_D9I/AAAAAAAAAMU/gUPCCHgOULk/s200/rockwell_thanksgiving1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407902668607655890" />
Thanksgiving gives us a chance to take stock of what we have—an immediate look at our lives on the third Thursday of each year. It always amazes me when I actually “count my blessings.” I am so blessed! Each day I wake up in my own bed, with a roof over my head, hot and cold running water and food on my table. I am better off than 50% of the rest of the world.

I have a husband who loves me, three incredible children and 13 grandchildren. God has blessed our hard work and our health is good. I am constantly meeting new people, speaking to talented and interesting guests on my radio and television shows, and I am able to create new ideas and activities. God truly is good!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 121px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/Swy7FyTph5I/AAAAAAAAAMc/zmtkqdWYJnY/s200/bill%27s+mom.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407902960643049362" />On November 2nd of this year, my mother-in-law, Margaret Raaker, passed away. But we had a long and incredible relationship with her. She was 91 years young. She lived well, was well loved, and we know we will see her again.

Although we aren’t traveling to see our children, who are scattered around the country, we will be celebrating with our son and his family from California and the rest of my family here in the Cincinnati area.

I am reminded as I count my blessings, that food and shelter are only two of the multitude of things I enjoy. I have countless friends, incredible relationships with my family, and enough money to accommodate all my needs.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 114px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SwzDBng64OI/AAAAAAAAANM/FaaYhsoB0qw/s400/KathrynRaaker.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407911685119467746" />
I have a radio program which attracts a wide audience of guests and listeners. I enjoy learning about their lives and hearing their interesting stories. I have a television program called the Chef You and I, that I love filming. I get to go places, do things and meet people that people in other professions never have the chance of doing or meeting.

Yes, I am blessed. My Thanksgiving prayer is that you too, are able to count your blessings and realize all the things that mean the most are the things that are not “things.”

Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s amazing to me the thrill I get when I enjoy the colors of the fall leaves. It is almost a natural high—not in the “drunk” sense of the word, but more in the spiritual closeness it brings me to God. To see the magnificent colors through His eyes, it is enthralling

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 133px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SvnIDQL9vlI/AAAAAAAAAKM/vMKJuRSodgY/s200/Billy%27s+Birthday+042.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402569186217934418" />since it is fall here in Cincinnati. The leaves are changing; in fact, most have changed to brown and fallen to the ground but the enjoyment of the leaves is worth the next three or four months of bare trees.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SvnRCsjK0CI/AAAAAAAAAKs/NhA-J2ZNFm0/s200/no+big+deal.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402579072256233506" />One of the exciting things I was able to do was to see these colors from the basket of a hot air balloon! Taking a ride in a hot air balloon has been on my “bucket list” for a while and I toyed with the idea more than once. Since my husband Bill, is not that excited about heights, I had to seek out my high-flying friend, Pat Stirnkorb.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 134px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SvnSkfnD5aI/AAAAAAAAAK0/0pvlFxo-pgA/s200/Balloon+081.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402580752410076578" />
Together with the two pilot and co-pilot, we traveled from the Blue Ash Airport to somewhere far above West Chester, nearing Middletown, Ohio. The view was spectacular, especially when we traveled over Sharon Woods lake and could almost touch the branches as our pilot dipped down for a closer look. I was a little nervous, I must admit, but the pilot kept telling me to give it 10 minutes in the air and I would be hooked. He was right! I could keep flying forever.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 134px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SvnTbshM0GI/AAAAAAAAAK8/lUABhbr4XSc/s200/a+wave.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402581700767961186" />The peace and serenity that encompasses the balloon comes from the knowledge that those on the ground are still engrossed in their fast pace life. All the while we were smoothly sailing on the winds. It was exhilarating! But it was more than just a balloon ride. It meant facing my fears—fear of not being in control, fear of where we would land, fear of IF we would land, and probably more than I can think of now, since all my fears have been faced! Riding in a hot air balloon means leaving everything up to God. He is the only one who can “steer” the balloon by capturing the winds and directing them.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 134px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SvnUiIiWUiI/AAAAAAAAALE/4OXlzTb8EyI/s200/Balloon+134.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402582910879814178" />
We were made aware of His might power when, after trying to land three times, we came down in a soccer field behind an apartment complex.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SvnVHUd3CSI/AAAAAAAAALM/h0IFPbcG0Bk/s200/Balloon+145.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402583549737371938" />
Almost immediately we were surrounded by kids and their parents, rushing in to see the contraption and asking questions about the ride.

One woman, a single mother of two, we later learned, is battling cancer. It just happens to be the very same kind of cancer Pat’s sister had (she is now in total remission); the woman shared with us how she was looking for a new oncologist, but having a tough time finding one who would take her government insurance. It just so happens that Pat’s mother is undergoing chemo every two weeks. We put her in touch with the doctor who immediately said she would take her as a patient, with or without insurance.

Does it really seem like a coincidence that we “just happened” to land in the field behind an apartment building spoke to a woman battling the very same kind of cancer Pat’s sister had, and just happened to be looking for a new oncologist? To believe that we had control over that situation or that it was “just by chance” would be to ignore the awesome power that only God has in our world.

Thanks to Bob and his crew from Balloon Adventures.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SvnXigtAgjI/AAAAAAAAALc/AKHQfZyKGvc/s200/Balloon+005.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402586215901856306" />

Summer is is fast approaching and school will be out in a week or so.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 170px; height: 126px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SpNesArYIpI/AAAAAAAAAJc/_IvEqbKnXtM/s320/k0943558.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5373742890572325522" /> The shows in June started out with a new travel group from Unforgettable Travel owners Nancy Dittelberger, and Janet M. Koch, discussed upcoming affordable trips and events for the whole family for summer and fall.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 70px; height: 91px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SpNg8Hj779I/AAAAAAAAAJs/5LGqXjnEnIQ/s320/bobdiener.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5373745366321328082" />
In the second week of June we had Travel expert Bob Diener, co-founder of Hotels.com and the new Roomvalues.com, shared money-saving travel tips and deals and the latest travel news giving travelers the inside scoop on how to save money every time they travel.

After listening to all the wonderful ideas on travel and since I am such a travel bug. I though its time for a well deserved break!

After having all the travel experts on the show I though its time for a well deserved break.

One of my clients Don Greco of Abramo's Gift needed me to go to California so I decided I will go ahead of time and see my kids and grandchildren, I wanted to catch up with all happenings, have fun with my grandchildren and just relax before I had to go back to work again!!!! So off to San Francisco I went around the middle of June after we taped a few shows for the radio stations.

It worked out perfectly as I had to go to Hollywood for Donald Greco author of Abramo's Gift. We had planned to have Mr. Greco do two of our cooking shows first with Jack LaLanne and Elaine LaLanne.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 97px; height: 121px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SpNkMqFdfhI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/0qoJLQb7DNM/s320/tonyT2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5373748949001534994" />

Tony Terentowicz our staff Photographer did a marvelous job with top shots as well filling in as cameraman for our cooking shows. Tony did all the driving in Hollywood and all over southern California as we filmed. A very special Thanks for a great job.

Our stay in Hollywood started with a filming at Dr. Bill Dorfman's house with his personal Chef Wendy we had such a good time joining us was our buddy Joe Estevez and Donald Greco. Dr. Dorfman's children and a friend joined us to learn how to cook great healthful foods.

The second part of our week we drove to Central California to film The Chef You and I show with Jack and Elaine LaLanne's it was such an honor for me to meet my mentors in Health and Wellness. The LaLanne's were so gracious with the whole crew. What a great show.

I was surprised to hear Jack will be a very young 95 years old in September. Both Jack and Elaine are so youthful I hope I age as well as they have and it was so fun recording our show with them for The Chef You and I.

The end of our stay we met with Will Wallace and filmed with his acting school what a well rounded trip a great way to end the month of June.

May Days

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 80px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SjvXVojVgWI/AAAAAAAAAJE/E09xaXSXnJo/s320/Flower+Power+Border.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349105749095448930" />

NEW! NEW!! KATHRYN BOOK OF THE MONTH CLUB !!!!! May was full of surprises with Authors, Auto Racing, relationships, dating advice and new technology for our listeners.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 133px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SjvPztQCiZI/AAAAAAAAAHs/XExl50nuEHQ/s200/FC5S6026_resize.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349097469659744658" />

Our TV Audience experienced new episodes of The Chef You and I with Chef Michael and new chef's around the globe.

Born B464 is now in our 27th Episode. We even did an episode at the Kentucky Speedway it makes me want to become a race car driver every time I am at the Track oh well I had my chance a few years ago behind the wheel we will leave it to the experts.

“Let’s Just Talk” welcomed the top author in Ohio, Donald Greco, to come to Cincinnati to be live in our studios. Greco’s book is a realistic depiction of Italian and Irish immigrants in 1920 Youngstown, Ohio. This book will keep you mesmerized, it's an easy read.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 93px; height: 145px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SjvR6FQFr3I/AAAAAAAAAIE/CvwAwP5Sjf4/s200/04b6d457564e1c56.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349099778204872562" />

Everyone loves March because its MARCH MADNESS TIME! And isn't Basketball everyone favorite sport well its always been mine since childhood. My favorite team is Xavier University or XU. Every year I wait for March so I can cheer my hometeam on to Victory. But wouldn't you know it every year, I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting and praying they will make it to the Final Four and then it happens, they lose in the Sweet Sixteen. Oh well, there is always next year for the Hometown Team.

But then I get to cheer on the other Great Teams I have adopted over the years. This year was very special as we were invited to the Lions Annual Final Four Basketball Fund Raiser by our friend Bob Galloway. We had a super time and rasied lots of money for charity. It seemed such a short season but now its time for BASEBALL. More about that in April.

THE NEW TV VENTURE
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 135px; height: 185px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SefiWtHUwWI/AAAAAAAAAG0/wsaybLVLMqg/s200/chefU_ttids1100HIGH_res2new.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325473964084216162" />
What else is new I thought you would never ask, TV Wise well its "The Chef you and I Show" with Executive Chef Michael Bellanger and yours truly Kathryn Raaker.
Our Chef's Kitchen is located at Pebble Creek Golf Club. Chef Michael and I have been friends for years and was orginally on the Food Network when it first started. Ihave been waiting to do a TV Show like this concept for years. I know we have a winner with our new show. The concept for the show, The Chef, You and I, an hour reality based TV show begins with the idea that everyone needs to eat healthy, but not everyone knows how to do so. The Program mission and purpose is to entertain while educating our viewers.

A kitchen is our stage with the Chef, You (a group of 5-6 participants) and I, Kathryn Raaker. The Group of Pre-selected Participants has sent their favorite dishes to Kathryn and the Chef. The challenge for the Chef You and I is to take that heavy calorie entrée or dessert and prepare it into a healthy alternative. We will have preselected an entrée for our Chef to prepare in his or her normal way, which will be cooked in advance of the show. Kathryn will pick a guest from the table group to help her and the Chef prepare the dish in a healthier manner. It could be as simple as changing the oils, going from regular to light products or switching to Organic. The Chef, Kathryn and the volunteer will prepare the dish and discuss while doing it how they are changing it.

Once the entrée has been prepared the healthy way, the group will all taste the two versions and then will vote on taste, presentation and what they think on the healthier dish.

The second part of our program is a challenge from the Chef to prepare a dish he or she selects using healthy ingredients, on our own at someone’s home or place of our choice. It is easy in the Chef’s Kitchen but the creating in your own kitchen sometimes can be a challenge in itself. We will begin by determining how to “fix” the recipe and then prepare and cook a new version of the main course, dessert or salad . This time the chef along with our pre-selected participants at our table gets to taste the revised dish and give us a grade on how well we prepared it. At this point we will talk about nutrition, portion control and modifying existing recipes.

Purpose

Our obese society is a result of not knowing how to cook healthy and eating gargantuan portions prepared by fast food and sit-down restaurants. A portion of meat is no longer a 4-6 oz. size, but a 12-16 oz. serving. Even things like rolls, salads and sandwiches are “upsized” for the “healthy appetite.” Unfortunately it creates “unhealthy” consumers.

To our knowledge there is no other show committed to teaching people the healthy way to cook while teaching them to cook. This is a “healthy dose of reality!”

Our first Guest was Sarah Godall, author of the "Palace Diaries" Sarah was the Secretary to Prince Charles for 12 years and was appointed a Member of the Royal Victorian Order before leaving her post. The Palace Diaries, is an insightful and very funny look at Ms. Godall's time behind the palace gates. Sharon Osborne calls it “A really, really good read.”

Our Second Guest was Lady Colin Campbell who wrote what are considered to be two of the definitive books on Princess Diana, Diana in Private and The Real Diana. Related to most of the royal families of Europe and the British Royal Family through marriage, she is an insider in international society. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 125px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/Seeofou7tLI/AAAAAAAAAGc/H9yI9JnfTZE/s200/061ladycolin_468x562.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325410345852581042" />
Her new book "Princess Bianca" has already caused quite a stir in Great Britain; it is so controversial Great Britain had pulled it from the bookstore shelves for awhile. We started out the month on Ground Hogs Day, with Mr. Ground Hog seeing his shadow oh well six more weeks of winter, just what I wanted to hear. And adding insult to injurty we were hit on the 3rd with a another major snow storm and we were all caught by surprise. HA! HA! Mother Nature fooled us again.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 101px; height: 151px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SYkG5fwaCCI/AAAAAAAAAFc/07gQhoR57CU/s200/DSCF6088copyAllen.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298774021424941090" />
That reminds me that on the 7th February we will miss being at the ARCA 200 in Daytona, Florida but my buddy Allen Schwarzwalder, my expert in racing and I will be glued to our TV's. You all know that Allen was the one that introduced me to racing being a former race car driver.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 53px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_XT3yQClf6MA/SYkP_6HWEQI/AAAAAAAAAGE/hDzlb6wCwsI/s200/fkimmel_fordone_site_01.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298784027184337154" />
    This year we will be interviewing lots of drivers both Champions and newcommers. Interviewing champion drivers Frank Kimmel, Bill Kimmel and the upcoming stars of the next generation Will Kimmel and Frankie Kimmel.

New to ARCA this year is International Driver Nur Ali. It will be the first time Nur will be driving in the ARCA Series. Nur was an Open Wheel Driver. Can't wait to be at the track again. Wild and crazy race in Daytona loved it though.

January 2009

JANUARY WOW SO MUCH TO TELL!

The month of December was wild and wonderful for both Let’s Just Talk and Born B464 shows. From our Football Experts having fun discussing my new favorite sport to planning our newest venture the new TV show “The Chef You and I” to traveling to Pennsylvania and New York City to celebrating the holidays it was fabulous so read on to find out all of our happenings.

In the first part of December Michele Denier my sidekick and I traveled to Barto, Pennsylvania and New York City to film the Inn and Bally Spring and Abby Z’s new Showroom and Boutique in Soho. I love traveling and especially to New York and Pennsylvania my two favorite places on earth. Michele and I were guests of honor at the Inn at Bally Spring in Barto, Pennsylvania our hosts were Mary Jane and Bob Wagner.
It was such a treat I had the Honeymoon Suite and Michelle and one of the top Suites as well. We were truly pampered to say the least; it was such a tough Filming Assignment! Ha! Ha!

New York City was aglow… Christmas is so special in New York City it was winter wonderland and I love New York in the wintertime My friend and traveling companion Michele decided since we are both getting healthy the only way to see and experience the sights in New York was to walk. So we started our day at Rockefeller Square, with the Christmas Tree and the skating rink, since we didn’t have time to skate we decided to see if we could get into a Matinee and see a Broadway Show well that didn’t work so we went shopping. and did we shop until we dropped literally but who cares its New York City. I love to be a tourist and love taking in all the sights.

In New York my favorite store is Macy’s it always makes me feel like a kid again when I go there. I don’t know about you but having a makeup session is the way I like to have fun there. Michele was having a super time trying to find small Christmas presents to take back for her family .Got back to our hotel in plenty of time to have a chance to see my darling daughter and her boyfriend and have a lovely dinner in an Italian Restaurant across from our hotel. Since we only had a day or two of it in New York Michele and I made the best of our assignment.!!!!

Day two our Shoot with the Famous Designer Abby Z. If you haven’t been t Abby Z’s in Soho you really must!!! We did a wonderful makeover show and it was such a blast! Abby Z and her employees made Michele and I feel so at home from the minute we arrived. The TV show turned out great! When you are in New York make sure you stop by and experience Abby Z’s flag ship store located at 57 Greene Street between Spring and Broome in Soho and her other boutique in Long Island, New York, at 630 Old Country Road, Garden City, NY 11530, Telephone: 516-741-5550. Budge Brown was on our show in November and Mr Brown was sweet enough to send us a case of wine from his winery in Napa Valley. Mr. Brown lost his wife Arlene to breast cancer after 48 year of marriage. He was determined to fight the disease that took his precious wife and is using his fine wines of Cleavage Creek to do that by donating 10% of gross sales to find a cure and raise awareness. Each bottle of Cleavage Creek wine has a picture of a breast cancer survivor on the label and her story is told in the Cleavage Creek website. www.CleavageCreek.com

To start with some of you remember on our TV show we featured the charity Operation of Hope on Born B 4 64 TV Show. We kept in touch with them and a few months ago we were invited to come to the Operation of Hope "Night of Smiles". For some of you that missed the TV Show a little background on the Charity. Since 1989, the U.S.-based Operation of Hope organization has traveled to Africa and South America, donating over 2,000 free facial reconstructive surgeries to children.

So on Oct 3rd Kathryn traveled to Hollywood to visit friends and attend the event. She invited 10 of her friends and they had the time of their lives at The 4th Annual, ''A Night of Smiles.''

Operation of Hope hosted "THE NIGHT OF SMILES" on Saturday, October 4th at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. Honorees for the "Women of The Year" and "Man of The Year" awards were given to legendary, Academy Award winner Patty Duke and Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker. Other honorees included Dr. Babak Azizzadeh, Dr. Keith Blackwell, and Mr. Jack Mortensen of Mortensen Broadcasting.

Bryan Clay, 2008 Beijing Decathlon Olympic Gold Medalist spoke briefly.

The evening's entertainment included a special appearance by Grammy winner, Paula Cole, renowned pianist, Carter Larsen and the West Angeles Children's Choir and renowned tenor, Troy Winemiller. The evening paid tribute to their very special guest, Beloved from Africa who was featured in People Magazine.

It was truly an honor to finally meet the now famous Beloved, such a brave and handsome young man he is and such a wonderful story and happy new beginning that the Operation of Hope organziation made possible for him. How many people embraced and wanted to meet him and congratulate him that night. It was truly an enchanted evening of dinner, awards and entertainment. We visited with our friends Patty Duke and her Husband Mike and met Bryan Clay and so many more.

New Experts...

What's new on Let's Just Talk?

Has Kathryn been busy with important people and important events, moving and shaking all over for good causes! From earth shattering revelations to earth shattering causes, Kathryn has been pouring on the excitement in the last two weeks!

Think I'm exaggerating? Read on, friend.

On Kathryn's Sept. 15 "Born B4 64" television show, a shocking truth about Babe Ruth was revealed. J. Anderson Cross appeared with Kathryn to discuss his monumental book, just published this month, called The Bambino Secret. The Bambino's secret was that he was part African American. Cross learned this in Abingdon, Virginia when he found a key link to the Bambino's genealogy in a handwritten journal entitled, Colored Marriages From 1853 to 1859. Cross had traveled the country for this information that could not be found otherwise in any library or through Internet Research. The matter was very hushed up in Babe Ruth's time because he would not have been allowed to play in those days before Jackie Robinson, up to now the first African American thought to have played in the major leagues. The American public would have rejected Ruth had they known his heritage, so the Yankee businessmen buried the matter deep.

On the same show, a monumental issue was discussed: breast cancer. Marie Johnson told her story of survival, of how she was diagnosed with breast cancer when single and only in her 30s. Her courageous journey has included 13 years of remission full of peaks and valleys. She told the tales of loving support from her family and of the difficulties of reconstructive surgery. Marie is very inspiring to other women who want to know all about surviving this dread disease.

Last week on Kathryn's "Let's Just Talk" radio show she had an endearing guest appear on a very important issue: adoption. Elliot Anderson, author of a new book, Answers in Abundance told of a father's journey through a miraculous adoption story. What a resource he was and what an inspiration! His was an absolutely riveting story of hope and joy! Anyone who has gone through the tragedy of infertility absolutely needs to listen to this show and resource Elliot Anderson to help them with all of the myriad decisions involved in charting the maze of adoption.

Also last week, Kathryn had a truly top shelf legal eagle on "Let's Just Talk," none other than Robin Sax who you've seen on such shows as Larry King Live, Nancy Grace, and Fox News' The Line Up. She is also a radio regular on "The Dana Pretzer Show." On these shows, she shared her legal scrutiny of and insights into the cases of Natalee Holloway, Stacey Peterson, Baby Grace, Bobbie Cutts, and the OJ Simpson case. Robin, as a legal analyst and commentator, often comments upon high profile cases because she is a sought after speaker on child sexual assault, family violence, domestic abuse, stalking, Internet safety, and the criminal justice system. Sax is a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney. She specializes in prosecuting cases of sex crimes against children. For the last seven years, she has been the prosecuting attorney for the Child Sexual Assault division of the Los Angeles County Sex Crimes Unit. Through her Kid Scene Investigation programs, Robin speaks to hundreds of parents each year about how to prevent their children from becoming victims of Internet stalkers and predators. Robin also created the highly successful Kids Safe Day. Robin has written four books that draw upon her vast experience as a sex crimes prosecutor, child advocate, and parenting expert. She is the national spokesperson for the Amber Alert Stick, which has been endorsed by the Center for Mission and Exploited Children. Robin is married and has three children, living in Los Angeles.

On October 4, Born B4 64 has been invited to cover the Operation of Hope Event in Los Angeles celebrating Beloved, the amazing and inspiring child success story featured in People Magazine. When Operation of Hope was in Zimbabwe in 2006, they met Beloved, a gentle 16 year old boy who had placed a land mine in his mouth, thinking it was a transistor radio. Two years later, after Operation of Hope's donated surgeries, Beloved has gone back to Zimbabwe with a whole new outlook on life along with a whole new smile! To read the entire inspiring story, use this link, http://www.operationofhope.org/. To purchase tickets for the charitable Operation of Hope Event "A Night of Smiles" on Oct. 4, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, which will feature Beloved as a special guest, use this link, http://www.tix.com/Event.asp?Event=154976. To donate to Operation of Hope, use this link, http://www.operationofhope.org/donate.html.

Kathryn will be doing yet another first (how does she keep finding them to do?) soon. Born B4 64 has been invited to cover the Queens Film Festival in New York. While there, Kathryn will will be submitting an entry into the film festival, her first! Her entry will be a submission which offers a montage of "Past Years Born B4 64 Shows".

As final notes to add to this earth shattering list of goings-on by Kathryn (I told you, didn't I?), it should also be noted that on Sept. 18, the Tri-State Connection was in the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce Business Expo. Friends, workers, companies, and supporters of Kathryn and all of her Media and Business programs were invited. Thanks and blessings to all who participated.

And last, but certainly not least, Purple Beverage (for which Kathryn is a spokesperson) will have their next sampling in Cincinnati at Hatting's Super Market on Sept. 21 from 10am to 2pm. Purple and Purple protein shakes will be served to all of the customers. Sounds great! We don't want to miss that! All that taste and it's good for you, too! And it's free!

Until next time, after following Kathryn's whirlwind of bounty and blessing for another two weeks, this is your friend, Kathryn's Mystery Blogger, signing off.

What's Happenin' with Kathryn

Kathryn Raaker, with her usual zest for life, has been and will be all over in recent and coming days, spreading her contagious enthusiasm and energy for various community projects.

+At the Riverfest over the Labor Day holiday, Kathryn was found tirelessly meeting and greeting celebrants with company sponsor Purple for her "Let's Talk" radio show.

+On the weekend of Sept. 5-7, Kathryn will be appearing at the Harvest Home Parade with Class X radio.

+Yet again showing her great heart for children's issues, Kathryn will be interviewing, on her Born B4 64 television show next week, the founders of World of Children, Harry and Kay Leibowitz. Kathryn said of the upcoming show, "We will be telling their beautiful love story, how they met and what their careers were prior to founding World of Children. For ten years this amazing organization has improved the lives of children around the world. We are proud, honored, and privileged to interview this lovely and loving couple."

World of Children is a change-making funding program with a global vision and mission to assist those organizations and persons on the ground who are making a positive difference in children's lives. The only organization of its kind, World of Children has recognized and provided funding and visibility for promising change-makers for children. W of C has been called "the Nobel Prize for Children." They assist those with a proven track record of success in order to make them more successful. To date, W of C has awarded more than 2 million dollars to over 70 individuals and organizations.

+In mid-September on Born B4 64, Kathryn will be interviewing the author of the best-selling The Bambino Secret, J. Anderson Cross. In a monumentally stunning work, Cross claims that Babe Ruth was the first black major league baseball player! And the show is very timely: just in time for the Sept. 21 historic last game in Yankee Stadium. You don't want to miss this show as Cross reveals Babe Ruth's biggest secret!

+As versatile in her talents as she is indefatigable in her work, Kathryn zooms off again in late September to Philly to act in an upcoming movie, playing the role of a news anchor woman who turns homicidal. The role will call for a completely out of character effort on Kathryn's part, being cast in a very sinister and antisocial role. Kathryn is wondering if she can bring off the part in this movie that explores the eternal theme of good versus evil. But it is a creative challenge and Kathryn loves big challenges!

+Continuing in the stream of new challenges, Kathryn will try her hand at being a radio disc jockey! In the upcoming months, Kathryn will lend her voice and verbal charisma to Class X Rock 88.9 FM. This fulfills a dream of Kathryn's granted by station owner and Boomer supporter Bill Fry. Class X gets one million hits per month on the Internet! Spry will be appearing soon, as well, on the Born B4 64 show.

+Because open and creative spirituality is on everyone's minds so much these days, Kathryn will be featuring as her regular "Spirituality Expert" Dennis Craft of Phoenix, Arizona. Dennis is the author of Blue Collar Gospel and the founder of The Rowan Initiative, a spiritual formation-centered ministry that stresses individual, dynamic, imaginative, and personal development of one's spirituality within the context of local and global-visioned community. The emphasis is upon taking personal initiative (TPI) to find personal, ultimate meaning in life and then, with the assistance of that personal empowerment, to be a blessing and an agent of peace, wisdom, and health in the world. Dennis has, as an area of career expertise, ministry to those with addictions.

+That about wraps up the update on What's Happenin' with Kathryn? But check back soon because, with Kathryn Raaker, anything is about to happen---and quick!

What Exciting Adventures Has Kathryn Been on Lately?

The “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” Meet the Producers Adventure (May 2-5): Staying current and getting the story as is her unstoppable modus operandi, Kathryn dashed to New York City to chat with no less than the producers of the latest Indy Jones blockbuster at the famed Helmsley Hotel.

The “Personal Audience with the Three Divas” Adventure (May 3): After attending the unforgettable Diva’s Concert at Radio City Music Hall, Kathryn was invited backstage to personally chat up three of the most divine of all divas: Diana Ross, Patty LaBelle, and Chaka Khan.
