"Where has the Time Gone"

My favorite part of the year is late spring when all the lovely flowers appear, every color of the rainbow. Tulips, Daffodils, Azaleas, Forsythia, Judas Trees, Lilacs and so much more.... last year I planted over three hundred tulip bulbs, and to my surprise they all came up this year and it was such a sight to behold. I was worried they would not come up because the deer love the bulbs somehow I out smarted the deer! It was such a gorgeous display of color, oh I wish I had taken a picture or two, oh well there is always next year. Our year of 2010 is speeding by at a rapid pace, causing me to spin and twirl in several directions. It is difficult to believe it is May and summer is just over the horizon. The speed of my life should be the indicator that life in general is on the same pace. In the last few weeks I have traveled quite a bit, shooting episodes of The Chef You and I, in different parts of the country. If that isn’t enough to keep me busy, we have had a full slate of impressive guests on our radio program. John Michelotti, creator of the Flag of Honor/ Flag of Heroes Project was in our studio. The Flag of Honor bears the names of those who perished in the terrorists’ attacks on 9/11. John gave us flags to give to special veterans. One was presented to Don Kennedy, former Air force Pilot, while we were on the air. It was a touching moment for all of us who witnessed it. Joan Sweeney and Robert Chimento of Red Road Productions discussed the new movie “Follow the Prophet” based on a true story It centers around a young girl who escaped from a polygamy cult. It is an edge-of-your-seat thriller that explores how brainwashing is used to promote ritualistic underage marriage and sex offences with the cults which are still in existence today. This is a current event movie which has something for everyone. Another guest on our program, William R. Forstchen, PHD, and author of “One Second After”, discussed his best-selling book. The book opens the topic of EMP and what it is in our world. It should scare you to death! Reading this book should make you spring into action and contact your public officials in the senate and congress to take action. This is an immediate threat to the world. Our second guests on last week’s program were Don Kennedy, ProMaster Home Repair and Remodeling. He is our new political analyst and a respected author. He pulls not punches and Willey and Don Kennedy together create an active discussion on why American’s should stand up and be heard. We need to speak out for the persecuted and oppressed. We need to stop being a part of the “silent majority” and find our voices. Lots of new things are happening in our entertainment world, starting with a new network where we will be broadcasting soon. The Telos Digital Television Network will being broadcasting this month, and our television program, The Chef, You and I, will be featured two-three times each week. It is an incredible opportunity and we will soon be nationwide on a five-level broadcasting network. We are also exploring the creation of a kids program to also be included in this new network. One that fun things that we will be filming this year is the event at the Shadow Box Cabaret. It is held in May every year and this year the Yearly Fundraiser / Auction will be on May 12, 2010 at the Newport Levee. The radio show “Let’s Just Talk always sponsors the event with a table. And in addition this year Chef Michael Belanger and I are giving a $2500 dinner for four with four courses plus wine, from the Chef You and I show. The winners will be televised on our new TV show the night of the dinner. The Event at the Shadow Box is always fun with entertainment and food and silent and live auctions, I hope you will all attend. We have a full schedule of other events for the summer, including attendance at the Reds ball games, Grilling for Summer with Chef Michael on our Chef, You and I program. I’ll be traveling to Bowling Green, Kentucky in June to cover the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion. In my spare time, I hope to plant a garden for use on our television program, and I hope to remodel our kitchen. If that isn’t enough, I’ll be taking a trip to California to visit with my daughter who is expecting her first child in August. Just a side note on the NHRA, they will be offering a Show it, Win it and Take it to Indy contest. Hundreds of cars from all over the country will be driving into Bowling Green that weekend—ranging from muscle cars to hot rods to trucks, and custom classics. Ten of the best, plus 50 of the top entries will be going to the 56th Annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis. Entry forms can be found at http://musuem.nhra.com. Hope you have a wonderful month and usher in summer with flair!
