What's Happenin' With Kathryn---Sept. 18

Wow!

Has Kathryn been busy with important people and important events, moving and shaking all over for good causes! From earth shattering revelations to earth shattering causes, Kathryn has been pouring on the excitement in the last two weeks!

Think I'm exaggerating? Read on, friend.

On Kathryn's Sept. 15 "Born B4 64" television show, a shocking truth about Babe Ruth was revealed. J. Anderson Cross appeared with Kathryn to discuss his monumental book, just published this month, called The Bambino Secret. The Bambino's secret was that he was part African American. Cross learned this in Abingdon, Virginia when he found a key link to the Bambino's genealogy in a handwritten journal entitled, Colored Marriages From 1853 to 1859. Cross had traveled the country for this information that could not be found otherwise in any library or through Internet Research. The matter was very hushed up in Babe Ruth's time because he would not have been allowed to play in those days before Jackie Robinson, up to now the first African American thought to have played in the major leagues. The American public would have rejected Ruth had they known his heritage, so the Yankee businessmen buried the matter deep.

On the same show, a monumental issue was discussed: breast cancer. Marie Johnson told her story of survival, of how she was diagnosed with breast cancer when single and only in her 30s. Her courageous journey has included 13 years of remission full of peaks and valleys. She told the tales of loving support from her family and of the difficulties of reconstructive surgery. Marie is very inspiring to other women who want to know all about surviving this dread disease.

Last week on Kathryn's "Let's Just Talk" radio show she had an endearing guest appear on a very important issue: adoption. Elliot Anderson, author of a new book, Answers in Abundance told of a father's journey through a miraculous adoption story. What a resource he was and what an inspiration! His was an absolutely riveting story of hope and joy! Anyone who has gone through the tragedy of infertility absolutely needs to listen to this show and resource Elliot Anderson to help them with all of the myriad decisions involved in charting the maze of adoption.

Also last week, Kathryn had a truly top shelf legal eagle on "Let's Just Talk," none other than Robin Sax who you've seen on such shows as Larry King Live, Nancy Grace, and Fox News' The Line Up. She is also a radio regular on "The Dana Pretzer Show." On these shows, she shared her legal scrutiny of and insights into the cases of Natalee Holloway, Stacey Peterson, Baby Grace, Bobbie Cutts, and the OJ Simpson case. Robin, as a legal analyst and commentator, often comments upon high profile cases because she is a sought after speaker on child sexual assault, family violence, domestic abuse, stalking, Internet safety, and the criminal justice system. Sax is a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney. She specializes in prosecuting cases of sex crimes against children. For the last seven years, she has been the prosecuting attorney for the Child Sexual Assault division of the Los Angeles County Sex Crimes Unit. Through her Kid Scene Investigation programs, Robin speaks to hundreds of parents each year about how to prevent their children from becoming victims of Internet stalkers and predators. Robin also created the highly successful Kids Safe Day. Robin has written four books that draw upon her vast experience as a sex crimes prosecutor, child advocate, and parenting expert. She is the national spokesperson for the Amber Alert Stick, which has been endorsed by the Center for Mission and Exploited Children. Robin is married and has three children, living in Los Angeles.

On October 4, Born B4 64 has been invited to cover the Operation of Hope Event in Los Angeles celebrating Beloved, the amazing and inspiring child success story featured in People Magazine. When Operation of Hope was in Zimbabwe in 2006, they met Beloved, a gentle 16 year old boy who had placed a land mine in his mouth, thinking it was a transistor radio. Two years later, after Operation of Hope's donated surgeries, Beloved has gone back to Zimbabwe with a whole new outlook on life along with a whole new smile! Kathryn will be doing yet another first (how does she keep finding them to do?) soon. Born B4 64 has been invited to cover the Queens Film Festival in New York. While there, Kathryn will will be submitting an entry into the film festival, her first! Her entry will be a submission which offers a montage of "Past Years Born B4 64 Shows".

As final notes to add to this earth shattering list of goings-on by Kathryn (I told you, didn't I?), it should also be noted that on Sept. 18, the Tri-State Connection was in the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce Business Expo. Friends, workers, companies, and supporters of Kathryn and all of her Media and Business programs were invited. Thanks and blessings to all who participated.

And last, but certainly not least, Purple Beverage (for which Kathryn is a spokesperson) will have their next sampling in Cincinnati at Hatting's Super Market on Sept. 21 from 10am to 2pm. Purple and Purple protein shakes will be served to all of the customers. Sounds great! We don't want to miss that! All that taste and it's good for you, too! And it's free!

Until next time, after following Kathryn's whirlwind of bounty and blessing for another two weeks, this is your friend, Kathryn's Mystery Blogger, signing off.
